How Above Standard decides what's worth your time

This page exists because the only thing that makes a curation site worth your time is trust. Below is exactly how we operate — what we accept, what we refuse, and where the line is drawn. If we ever break what's written here, we expect you to call us out.

Tall-Verified is editorial. Always.

Tall-Verified is not for sale. No brand has ever paid, and no brand will ever pay, to earn the Tall-Verified mark on a product. It is awarded only when Lucas Steijn has personally tested the product against a fixed protocol — fit, headroom, weight tolerance, durability, and biomechanical suitability for taller bodies. The verdict is based on that test alone. A brand can be a paying partner of Above Standard and still have its product fail Tall-Verified. We have done this. We will keep doing it.

What brands can pay for

Brands can pay for visibility. They cannot pay for endorsement.

Specifically, paying brand partners can receive:

• A profile page in our /brands directory
• Priority placement within their category
• Inclusion in our monthly Tall Insider email
• The right to commission a sponsored Tall-Tested deep-dive — meaning we test their product publicly, with the verdict (positive or negative) published as we find it

What they do not get, and cannot buy:

• The Tall-Verified badge
• Editorial control over how their product is described
• Removal of a critical review
• Higher placement than a better-fitting product

Sponsored content looks like sponsored content

Any post or test paid for by a brand carries a "Sponsored Test" label at the top, in the same small-caps style as our other eyebrows. There is no native advertising. There are no disguised brand placements. If we accepted money to look at it, you will see that we accepted money to look at it.

Your data is yours

We collect what we need to make the site work — your email if you subscribe, your height if you choose to save it, the products you favourite. That data is used to personalise your experience on Above Standard and nothing else.

We do not sell personal data. We do not sell email lists. We do not share your height with brands. When we report data to partner brands, it is aggregated, anonymised, and never traceable to an individual.

You can delete your account at any time from your profile page, and all associated data is removed.

The test protocol

Every Tall-Verified product is evaluated on:

• Functional fit for taller bodies — inseam, sleeve, torso, headroom, seat depth, length
• Weight and load tolerance where relevant
• Durability over time. We don't verify products we haven't lived with.
• Honest price-to-value against shorter-body equivalents

Failure on any of these is failure overall. There are no partial passes.
